VSA Ohio seeks a Social Media and Special Events intern to assist with day-to-day social media marketing efforts and special event operations throughout the year. The intern will be responsible for the following activities and projects (additional tasks may be assigned).

+SOCIAL MEDIA: Develop content for and populate a social media calendar that coordinates the organization’s Facebook and Twitter pages. Monitor and provide updates to the VSAO blog and Calendar of Events. Produce light marketing materials or images to accompany promotions through social media.

+EVENTS: Assist with many aspects of event planning including promotion, design of power point presentations, signage, and event program for annual events such as Day of Arts for All (March 2015) and Reelbilities Columbus film screenings (September and November, 2014 and/or September, 2015). Intern is expected to attend and volunteer in various capacities during these events.

This is a wonderful opportunity to see many sides of a nonprofit statewide, arts service organization – event promotion and execution, design, and community/web outreach.

Qualifications:

+responsible & reliable

+MS Office experience required; design software (Adobe CS) and basic web content management knowledge a plus

+good verbal & written communication skills

+comfort working with individuals of all abilities

+attention to detail

+interest in culture, accessibility, inclusion, communications and design

+ability to work proactively and independently after receiving directions
 

Internship is unpaid but course credit is available. Time committment includes 5-15 hours per week in downtown Columbus offices and availability for special events throughout the year.
