Tickets are now available for the ReelAbilities Columbus Disabilities Film Festival. Nine award-winning, international films will be screened in central Ohio from Saturday, November 3 through Wednesday, November 7, 2012. This is the first time Columbus and VSA Ohio will present a disability film festival. Venues include the Columbus Museum of Art, Arena Grand Movie Theatre, OSU Urban Arts Space, King Arts Complex, and Ohio Historical Society. Tickets can be purchased by credit card, online at or with check or cash by contacting VSA Ohio at 614.241.5325. Ticket options include a Festival Pass ($75, valid for all 9 screenings), Opening Night ($20, Saturday, Nov. 3), or as individual screenings ($10, Sunday Nov. 3 – Wednesday, Nov. 7). Discounted rates for each ticket option are available to students, seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and groups over 20. All ticket purchases include access to discussions and art experiences. Due to space limitations pre-purchases are recommended, but can be bought at the door.

An opening night gala celebration will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at the Columbus Museum of Art, presenting the award-winning film, Warrior Champions (USA). The movie profiles four Iraq War veterans who returned home with life changing injuries that they turned into Olympic dreams. The evening includes a pre-VIP reception, Key Note speech by Ohio State University disability studies scholar, Dr. Brenda Brueggemann, post-screening panel discussion and open reception with music by pianist Steven Yee from Cincinnati.
